Stuff...

Things have been nuts the past few months. Warren has travelled a lot, Christmas came and went, and I can't believe its almost February. I am back to blogging but don't feel like there is anything really interesting to report. Warren did surprise me with a new car on our 11th anniversary, January 3rd.

We are thinking about putting the house on the market in March. Warren and I are going to Vegas together in February. The boys will both start the spring season soon. Warren is busy and has been helping my Father out with his leg a lot lately. I did begin a new Beth Moore study on the Tablernacle with my girlfriends. That sums up our life right now. Thanks for reading!!

More pictures coming tonight. If I'm brave, I'll incle my horrihble new hair.

New Books! Highly Recommended

I have to admit I'm having a hard time getting into Marley and Me but I hear good things so I shall see. There's too many others that are so fabulous its too easy to ignore Marley and the Twilight series (I did read number 1) right now. I want to finish them but it too hard right now.

Have not read this yet but a good friend recommended it to me yesterday and she loved it.

One of the best things I have ever read.

I'm truly obsessed with Jen Lancaster. This is hysterical but not as good as her two others, Bitter (below) and Such a Pretty Fat (earlier blog post). I love her and made the mistake of logging onto her blog one day. I will never do that again b/c I could read her all day.

All I Want for Christmas..

This is the Shark Upright Steam mop available at Target for $79.99. I don't know about anyone else, but this very well could be the answer to one of my prayers. I constantly have streaks no matter what I use on my wood floors and my tile is always filthy. Please respond if anyone ones of these. I know they are only 3 pounds and have great reviews.

Hoiday Recital

John Michael - Jingle Bells, Deck the Hall, and Angels We Have Heard on High (my favorite)

Melanie - O Christmas Tree and Jingle Bells.

My latest favorites

I LOVED these books with the exception of Twilight. It was OK but slow to me and not near as good as all the other books I've ever listed on here in MY opinion. I do know several people that love it, though.
The 19th wife is about one of Brigham Young's wives, the famous Ann Eliza Young, and has fascinating historical details from wikipedia entries, academic research papers, newspaper pieces, etc. Its extremely interesting. Sarah's Key tells the story of the Paris roundups and deportations when thousands of Jewish families were arrested by the French police. They were held at the Ve'lodrome d'Hiver and then transported to Aushwitz.
Veil of Roses was a story of a girl from Iran and her first experiences here in America. Everything Changes was hysterical and I am getting The Book of Joe by Jonathan Tropper today.
Yes, I have 4 children and read a lot but its only because I read the whole time I'm working out. I do not lie in bed all day!

This past week

Melanie had to make a simple machine for a class project and this is her Playhouse Pulley. It has a pulley and a rope to pull a bucket up the playhouse. She also had to have a labeled drawing and write paragraphs explaining it, and give an oral presentation in front of the class. Pretty cute.

Our Saturday morning was insane. Warren was travelling, we had to get my car out of the shop, my Dad had foot problems and eventually needed to be admitted to the hospital here in SA, Mel had 2 birthday parties, John Michael had a marble thing at the school for cub scouts (we went to 4 stores trying to find the marbles), etc.. In the middle of the chaos, I took the kids to the Los Leones Arts Festival. John-Michael's art was chosen from his school to be shown here. We snapped this photo and ran. My poor kids. It seems like I never have it together lately.

Speaking of never having it together, I couldn't find Kate's mary janes for church so here she is pushing around my laundry basket in tights and sneakers.

Derek turned 4 this past Thursday. He wore his crown all day at school and was so proud

Halloween 2008

Halloween was great this year. I usually don't dress up because I'm too cheap for it but wanted to do it for the kids since this was pretty cheap. Just $7 glasses at Walmart. Plus, I had to do it for Warren. He has always had a huge celebrity crush on Tina Fey. If he had his choice out of any of them, that's who he'd definitely pick. Anyhow, it was a lot of fun. I was a bit stressed out due to the fact that Warren is on call this weekend and we had to be at a party at 4pm. I had to get everyone ready after the bus came from school, snap some quick photos, and felt like a dork going to the party without my snowboarding "Todd."
It all worked out eventually and he did show up and I didn't have to take all 4 trick or treating alone. We went and had drinks with friends (yes, Warren was sober) afterwards until Warren had to go in for 4 cases. No sleep for him. Poor guy. Halloween is NOT a good weekend to be on call for trauma.
