Trip to South Texas

Its so strange watching my kids swim in the same pool I grew up playing in! There are all sorts of trees and every plant you can imagine. I even found a pomegranate one but they weren't ripe enough to pick. I'll try in a few months b/c they are Warren's favorites.

We left our suits in San Antonio so we made a quick trip to Wal-mart for these. I think they were marked down to $3 each

Sleepy eyes on Grandma's couch

I have 2 living grandparents and this one is Myrtle Hausler. She's eighty something but you would never know it. She's also Australian and has kept her accent even after living in the states over 60 years. On the far right is my Aunt Lynette which is my father's sister. I absolutely adore both of my grandmothers and we actually have a lot in common and share a lot of the same interests.

This is my mother's mom, Hazel Hudspeth. She's a Louisianan(SP?), speaks fluent French, and very cajun. She's also one of the nicest people around and very funny. She doesn't throw a THING away. Under her sink was a ton of tin foil in balls and all kinds of styrofoam cups and things of that sort. We kept trying to sneak things in the trash behind her back to spiffy things up a bit but when we left, she was still going through the dumpster. Ha!

Not too shabby for Wal-mart. Fun to visit your relatives. Does she really go through the trash? How funny.
